Jimmy Kiamba and Co sentenced to 30 years in jail or pay Sh21.4m for fraud at City Hall

Four former Senior Nairobi County officials have been handed a 30 year jail term combined or pay a total fine of Sh 21.4 million after being found guilty of Sh 18 million fraud.

This is after Justice Esther Maina overturned lower court’s decision that acquitted former Nairobi county Finance Officer Jimmy Kiamba, County secretary Lilian Ndegwa, senior secretary Regina Rotich and former head of treasury, Stephen Osiro in 2018 for lack of evidence.

The ex-officials who served in tenure of Evans Kidero have been found guilty and convicted of nine counts of graft offences.

Kiamba and Ndegwa have been fined Sh 9.6 million each in default to serve 12 years each.
While Osiro was handed down 3 years or pay a fine or Sh 1.2 million.

On her side Rotich has been fined Sh 1 million or serve 3years.
