KCB FC Head Coach Bernard Mwalala has warned his side to be wary of Murang’a Seal’s threat ahead of their crunch clash on Sunday at St. Sebastian Park in Murang’a County.
The two sides are separated by two points, and a win for Mwalala’s boys will see them move to third on the log. Currently, KCB is 4th with 19 points after 11 matches played while Murang’a Seal sits third with 21 points.
KCB’s vault has been strengthened by the return of Winger Musa Masika from injury and Haniff Wesonga from international duty with Harambee Stars.
Mwalala said: “Murang’a Seal is a good side and since its promotion to the league, the team has demonstrated that it is here to stay with the big boys. We approach this match with a lot of caution owing to their attacking threat. We have seen them bag a lot of goals in the season so far, therefore, we will be out there to defend well and score goals.”
The bankers will miss the services of Harrison Mwendwa who is sidelined with a calf injury, Brian Olango who is a doubt as well, Maurice Ajwang and Michael Mutinda who remain sidelined with long-term injuries. Goalkeeper Byrne Omondi also remains sidelined with a leg fracture he sustained while on international duty.
Midfielder Apollo Otieno, who limped off in the last encounter against Thika-based side BIDCO United with a thigh injury should be fit to start against Vincent Nyaberi’s charges.
The team is flying high on confidence after trouncing AFC Leopards 2-1 last weekend in a friendly fixture. The weekend’s matchday 12 fixture will usher in another mouth-watering encounter pitting KCB FC vs Shabana on December 2 at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay County.
